Lize Mynhardt

Born and raised in Cape Town, 26 year old Lize Mynhardt was blessed with perfect pitch. From the tender age of six she began playing and mastering the piano as well as the acoustic guitar despite the fact that she couldn’t read sheet music. To date Mynhardt plays seven instruments excluding her voice which has only improved year on year. All this lead her to audition for Idols in 2014 – where she reached the semi-finals and was placed second runner up. Since then, Mynhardt – who put her BComm LLB at Stellenbosch University on hold to become a fulltime musician – has been refining her art.

Cheswyn Ruiters

No one was more surprised than the winner of the first Maak Jou Famous reality TV show, the humble Cheswyn Ruiters (23) himself, when he eventually walked away with top honours on the hit kykNET show. Although labelling himself as a soul gospel singer at heart, mainstream audiences can soon look forward to hearing much more from Cheswyn when his first single hits radio stations and digital platforms very soon, entitled, A Reason - a power ballad that showcases Cheswyn’s vocal pipes perfectly and impressively. He says that he first discovered his passion for singing at age ten after he was asked to perform a song in church, and that his musical talents stem from his mother’s side of the family. “I really hope that my life story will show young people that your dreams can become a a reality, so I want to encourage them to go for it and give it everything they’ve got. Never, ever give up or believe that it’s impossible.”
